Brisbane Lions draftee Darcy Wilmot has already become a fan favourite thanks to an epic interview after he was picked 16th overall in the AFL Draft.
The Northern Knights product was the first of two Lions picked in the first round, with Kai Lohmann selected with pick 20.
However, it was Wilmot’s hilarious interview with the Fox Footy crew, live from a draft party in his living room, which captured fans’ attention.

The hard-running defender was seated on his couch with his mates as AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan read out his name.
What followed was absolute pandemonium.
Wilmot was immediately seized upon by his proud mates, with some having camera phones in their hands to record the moment.
“Wow, his mates certainly know how to make him become a tough competitor don’t they, having to withstand that,” said Bulldogs great Brad Johnson on Fox Footy’s coverage.
“It’s like he’s hit a guy up the side.”
Wilmot is the youngest player in the draft pool, having only qualified by a matter of hours, but he did not lack any confidence in his first interview as an official AFL player.

“I’m going good, it’s bloody exciting,” he told Fox Footy.
“I’ve just got the best mates around here. I promised about 100 people I’d give them tickets [to his AFL debut], yeah I don’t know.”
However, it was when he was asked by Fox Footy host Sarah Jones about his plans for the rest of the night, that Wilmot dropped an epic one-liner.
“A couple more Pepsi Max,” he said as his friends roared in the background drinking beers.
“Just having fun with the boys and the family, that’s about it.”
