Olympic finalists Oliver Hoare and Stewart McSweyn and up-and-comer Adam Spencer feature on a three-man Australian team set to contest the 1500m track event at the Paris Games.
It means the hopes of teen prodigy Cameron Myers making his Olympic debut in Paris are over.
Spencer, Hoare, McSweyn and Myers had all hit the 1500m entry standard but only three spots were available.
The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) is not expected to confirm the rest of the track and field team until next week, but informed sources speaking anonymously confirmed the team with Wide World of Sports.
McSweyn has also earned selection in the 5000m, according to informed sources speaking anonymously, and is set to feature at his second Olympic Games.
Spencer won the 1500m final at the Australian athletics championships in April and the 22-year-old is now set for his Olympic debut.
Other difficult selection decisions are yet to be revealed, including whether Catriona Bisset or Bendere Oboya will be selected for the 800m. Claudia Hollingsworth and Abbey Caldwell have already been selected for the two-lap event.
The AOC announced 14 track and field athletes at the completion of the national championships in Adelaide, including 800m runner Peter Bol, hurdler Michelle Jenneke, and high jumpers Nicola Olyslagers and Eleanor Patterson.
