Matildas superstar captain Sam Kerr has been officially ruled out of Paris 2024.
That’s according to her father, Roger Kerr.
The 30-year-old heartbreakingly went down with a ruptured ACL during Chelsea’s mid-season camp in Morocco, the club and Football Australia confirmed in January.

Kerr’s injury immediately put a cloud of doubt over her chance to play in the Matildas side if they were to qualify for Paris 2024.
On Wednesday night, the Australians did just that, with a monster 10-0 victory over Uzkebistan at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne confirming the Matildas would be officially heading to the Olympic Games.
The star has not been officially ruled out of Paris 2024 contention by Football Australia, with Kerr continuing her rehabilitation with Chelsea.
However, it is her dad who has made the call that Kerr will not make the trip to Paris, just five months away.
“Yeah, definitely out of the Olympics,” Roger Kerr told ABC Radio on Friday.
“So she’ll miss that and be ready for the start of Chelsea’s new season.”
Kerr’s father expressed just how gutted his daughter has been feeling since the injury at the start of the year.
“Naturally everything will be very disappointing, but it’s usually the life of a sportsman, your best player goes down,” he said.
However, Kerr has thrown his support behind the Matildas, as their journey to Paris 2024 gets underway.
“But it’s (Olympic Games) a real good thing for the Matildas, they’ve developed really well,” Kerr said.
“Sam’s part of the team but it’s the whole team and it’s a very successful team at the moment, so hopefully they bring home a medal.”
Kerr was named the 2023 WA Sport Star on Thursday night.
“It’s just a sensational effort for her,” Kerr’s father said.
“It’s sensational company.”
