Sherfane Rutherford and Andre Russell are officially world record holders, hitting 139 runs together to secure the highest ever T20I sixth wicket partnership.
The duo helped the West Indies defeat Australia by 37 runs, scoring their first win of the series.
Russell’s 71 off 29 balls was his highest ever score in the format, and Rutherford’s total his highest ever in only his 12th match.

West Indies captain Rovman Powell won the toss and elected to bat in Perth, and the side was in significant trouble early at 3-17.
When Russell entered the ground, the West Indies were 5-79 and in need of rescuing.
The 35-year-old went on the counter attack in typical fashion, combining with Rutherford to take the game away from Australia.
When Russell departed off the bowling of Spencer Johnson, the score was 6-218 in the last over, with the entertaining all-rounder’s innings including seven sixes.
“He’s a serious entertainer … he’s put the West Indies into a strong position in this game,” Australian great Mike Hussey said on Fox Cricket.
The West Indies finished their innings at 6-220.
In response, David Warner was the only player to look overly comfortable for Australia, scoring 81. Post-match, Warner confirmed it was his final international match in Australia.
Tim David provided some late entertainment, hitting 41 not out by ultimately his side fell short, finishing 5-183.
Romario Shepherd (2-31) and Roston Chase (2-19) were the best of the bowlers with the latter praising Russell’s impact on the match.
”We call him superman, so well played to Dre Russ,” he told Fox Cricket.
“That was a beautiful over in the 19th over (where he hit 28) so I think that really helped us to win the game. It pushed the momentum in our favour and we took that into the bowling.”
Despite the defeat, Australia finished winners of the series at 2-1.
