Bulldogs prop Luke Thompson’s season could be over after the enforcer was again charged by the match review committee.
Thompson is currently facing a two-match ban after being hit with a grade one crusher tackle charge in an incident involving Chris Randall.
But if the 25-year-old goes to the judiciary and fails to downgrade the charge, he will instead cop a three-week suspension.
The former St Helens star missed the opening four rounds of the 2021 season due to a suspension from last year, while recently he served out a three-game ban for a late tackle back in Round 19.
Meanwhile, Thompson’s teammate Corey Waddell is looking at a one-week suspension after he was hit for contrary conduct on Kalyn Ponga.
The Knights will also face a difficult decision on whether to challenge a contrary conduct charge to David Klemmer.
Klemmer can accept a one-game ban but risks two games on the sidelines if he’s unsuccessful at the judiciary.
The timing of Klemmer’s charge couldn’t have come at a more inconvenient period for the club after the former NSW prop was recently inserted into the starting side for Daniel Saifiti, who is sidelined with a knee injury.
