The Provan-Summons trophy has arrived back in Sydney for repares after it was damaged during Penrith’s grand final celebrations.
The iconic trophy, which Penrith earned after defeating the Rabbitohs 14-12 last weekend, is estimated to be worth around $30,000.
Nine News confirmed the NRL is upset the sculptures of Norm Provan and Arthur Summons were separated from the base of the trophy and placed in a pram.

Photos of the incident involving the pram surfaced across social media today, with the caption “googoo gaga” referenced in the trending image.
It’s understood the NRL is also investigating the matter.
The trophy is one of the most recognisable in Australian sports and centres around an iconic moment on the field.
In an award-winning 1963 photo dubbed ‘The Gladiators’, Provan and Summons, who were playing opposite each other in the NSW Rugby League Grand Final that year, embraced after the match.
The moment was captured by newspaper photographer John O’Gready and only later used as the inspiration for the NRL Grand Final trophy.
