The French international, who had a brief stint with the Panthers in 2016, almost had his ear torn off in Catalans’ loss to Warrington Wolves two weeks ago and underwent emergency surgery.
He took a week off to give the injury time to heal but despite wearing headgear, suffered another big tear that left the ear hanging by a thread.
Doctors repaired the ear with a host of stitches and Garcia spent the night in hospital as a precautionary measure.
He is now expected to take a longer break to allow the injury to properly heal.
