Kyrgios spoke earlier today about the fact that only eight men had won the men’s singles final at Wimbledon since he was born in 1995. They are: Pete Sampras, (1995, 1997-2000,), Richard Krajicek (1996), Goran Ivanisevic (2001), Lleyton Hewitt (2002), Roger Federer (2003-2007, 2009, 2012, 2017), Rafael Nadal (2008, 2010), Novak Djokovic (2011, 2014-15, 2018-19, 2021), and Andy Murray (2013, 2016).
What is the final prize money?
Roughly $3,510,000 is paid to the winner of both the men’s and women’s singles, with the runner up getting $1,845,000.
