David Warner saw the funny side of it, but the veteran was left in a world of pain after a bail smacked him where it hurts late in the first Test between Australia and Sri Lanka.
As part-time off-spinner Travis Head beat the defence of Sri Lankan debutant Jeffrey Vandersay on day three, a bail went flying and collected Warner in the groin.
The opening batter, fielding at leg slip, crashed to the ground as he clutched at the sensitive area, grimacing as his teammates celebrated the wicket.

But the unfortunate ricochet also sparked laughter among Warner and his teammates – in the moment and after the 10-wicket win in Galle.
Warner and Marnus Labuschagne found the humour in it on social media.
