A player swap involving two young halfbacks is reportedly being discussed between the Bulldogs and Dragons.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports the two struggling NRL clubs are floating the idea of switching Kyle Flanagan and Jayden Sullivan.
Flanagan, 23, has been much maligned during his fledgling career, leaving the Sharks then being cut by the Roosters mid-contract, only to land at the Bulldogs where he has been in and out of the first-grade team.

He was recently recalled to the NRL by Trent Barrett, before the coach quit his post to leave the entire playing roster in limbo.
Sullivan’s NRL career has barely begun. The 20-year-old is struggling to land a spot in the St George Illawarra line-up despite being contracted to the club until the end of 2025, considered one of the more promising young talents at the club.
The Dragons are considering extending the contract of million-dollar halfback Ben Hunt given his form, while Talatau Amone is the preferred young gun to occupy the other position in the halves at the moment.
Throwing an extra element in the situation is Flanagan’s father, Shane.

Shane Flanagan is on the St George Illawarra recruitment committee, but he is also gunning for the vacant coaching job at Belmore.
If Shane was to become coach of the Bulldogs, having his son Kyle in the squad could be seen as a complication, particularly given the dire situation the Bulldogs find themselves in.
