Australian featherweight Skye Nicolson has continued her stunning rise with a unanimous decision win over American Shanecqua Paisley Davis.
Nicholson, 26, won every round on the three judges’ scorecards and even produced a brutal knockdown in the final round of the six-round bout.
Stepping up for her third fight in 58 days, Nicolson became the first Australian female boxer to compete in New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden as she improved her professional record to 3-0.

“It’s a great feeling, I’m a very proud Australian,” Nicolson said after the win.
“I love putting Australia on the map and putting these records in the record book for my country.”
Coming into Sunday’s fight following wins against Bec Connolly and Jessica Juarez, Nicolson, who last year reached the quarter-finals of the Tokyo Olympics, said she hopes to soon take her bouts to eight rounds.
“I had so much fun out there, I wanted to keep going, six rounds wasn’t enough,” she added.
“As soon as I came out, I was ready for eight rounds. I feel like I was just getting warmed up and having so much out there when it was over.
“We will see a lot more excitement when I go further rounds.”
