Young gun Jack Ginnivan produced a starring performance for the Magpies as Collingwood edged out Essendon by 11 points on Anzac Day.
The second-year Magpie became the second teenager to win the Anzac Day medal for the iconic Essendon-Collingwood clash, with the last being Mark McGough in 2002.
“I don’t really know what to say, but I just want to thank Essendon for a great game,” he said moments after claiming the medal.

In a game in which Collingwood notched just three behinds, Ginnivan was perfect with the boot, slotting five goals to steer his side to victory, 12.10 (82) to 15.3 (93).
But it was Ginnivan’s goal during the second quarter that fans will remember most when he curled through a perfect bender from deep in the forward pocket.
Moments after that goal, he looked to the Essendon fans at the Punt Road end before telling them to quiet down as many responded with some words and hand gestures of their own.
“We did talk about how it’s a very heavy Bombers representation at the Punt Road End,” said James Brayshaw of that moment in commentary for Seven.
“Jack’s just mentioned to a few of them that they can keep it down to a dull roar.”
Footy great Leigh Matthews added: “I like his life and energy and cheekiness. I reckon it’s a positive, not a negative”.
That moment also drew plenty of responses across social media, which was well supported by former Magpies premiership-winner Dane Swan.

The 19-year-old is no stranger to rubbing some people in the game the wrong way.
Port Adelaide great Cornes recently teed off at Ginnivan, accusing the youngster of over-celebrating Collingwood’s round one win over St Kilda.
But even Cornes applauded the young gun after his Anzac Day performance.
