The Gold Coast Titans have ensured their debut campaign will end with an NRLW finals berth, beating the Newcastle Knights with a try in the dying minutes.
Gold Coast came into the match needing only to lose by nine points or fewer to stay above the fifth-placed Roosters, and were made to sweat as the Knights held a 6-0 lead for a big chunk of the game.
The Titans eventually pulled ahead with two late tries, before Newcastle came back again to make it 10-10 with a couple of minutes to go.

With a finals spot secured, there was only pride on the line for both teams; the Knights chasing their maiden win in the competition.
But a glorious long pass from Cobie-Jane Morgan to Karina Brown was enough to secure the two points, and consign Newcastle to a winless season.
The most interested spectators during the contest were the Parramatta squad, who watched on ahead of their game againt the Broncos.

A heavy defeat for the Titans would have made life easier for the Eels, but it’s still a simple assignment for the them – as long as they lose by fewer than 15 points, they’ll also be taking part next weekend at Leichhardt Oval.
