In a game full of first, the Titans handed the Broncos their first defeat since 2019 in a 28-26 thriller at Cbus Super Stadium.
With 54 points scored between the two teams at the final whistle, the match also broke new ground as the highest-scoring NRLW match in the competition’s history.
Expansion club Gold Coast got off to a dominant start in the women’s first-ever running of the Queensland derby and wrestled to stay in control as Brisbane made every attempt to get on top.

The Titans looked set to enter the halftime break with the lead, but a late try from Shenae Ciesiolka with the initial play of a centre-field scrum gave the Broncos a two-point advantage.
As the lead swung between the teams, second-rower Shaniah Power sidestepped the ball over the try line, evading five Broncos players and the field post to do so.
With play locked at 26 points each with seven and a half minutes left, it looked like the NRLW could see its first golden point played out.
However, as the clock ticked down on three minutes the Titans were awarded a penalty goal 32 meters out, which prop Brianna Clark snapped up.
In the chaotic final minutes, a few opportunities went begging for Brisbane.
Captain Ali Brigginshaw was too slow to challenge a kick-off that was judged just short of the 10-meter requirement, if only marginally, which could have given the Broncos one final roll of the dice.
