The Gold Coast Titans have sent a statement to the rest of the competition after taking down the Roosters 26-16 in Wollongong.
Heading into this afternoon’s match as underdogs, the Titans were quick out of the gates with Jasmine Peters and Karina Brown each crossing in the opening 10 minutes.

Strong defence early in the match from the Titans saw the Roosters turn the ball over in their opening two attacking sets.
While the Roosters responded in the 19th minute with a try to Leianne Tufuga to hit back, the Titans again scored two in a row to keep the margin out of reach.
The win for Gold Coast is their first ever, after going down last weekend to the Dragons in their NRLW debut.
Meanwhile, the Roosters are winless through the opening two rounds.
Nine commentator Mat Thompson said the Titans could be the one team in the competition to challenge premiership favourites the Broncos.
“I know the Broncos are absolutely the benchmark, but if you’re looking for a team to trouble them, I reckon this Titans team have got points in them,” Thompson said in commentary for Nine.
“If they can continue to improve, to me, they look like the testing material.”
Former Jillaroo Allana Ferguson added: “Couldn’t agree more. In and around the spine, you have a look at Georgia Hale, Destiny Brill, Brittany Breayley-Nati and the ball movement, the work they in there do to connect.
“They’re playing together, they look dangerous.”
Titans skipper Brittany Breayley said the performance was rewarding after a big week of training.
“It was so good to improve on last week’s performance,” Breayley said. “The girls really did it tough [last week] and we had a big week of training.”
