The Dragons have downed newcomers Gold Coast 20-12 in their first hit out of the 2022 NRLW season.
Defence was the order of the day for St George Illawarra, keeping the Titans scoreless until the 56th minute.
Debutant halfback Rachael Pearson looked sharp for the Dragons, while winger Teagan Berry grabbed a try in each half.

Madison Bartlett’s try had given the Red V an 8-0 lead at the interval, while Quincy Dodd sealed the win in the dying minutes with the Dragons’ 4th, after tries from Tiana Raftstrand-Smith and Shannon Mato had cut the margin to two points with five minutes to go.
After a massive shifti in the middle and following an extended break from footy, Dragons captain Kezie Apps was pleased to back playing again – though a bit short of breath when she spoke afterwards.
“At times I was questioning life with trying to get my breath back in, but it was really tough, we knew it was going to be tough and we knew it was going to be a battle in the middle,” she said.
“We let it go a little bit in that last half, but we tried to come back with a try so we finished pretty well.
The Red V unveiled a number of youngsters out wide, commentator Ruan Sims describing the right edge as “scintillating”.
“It’s exciting, the future of women’s sport and women’s rugby league is really exciting so to see them get a chance today and really rip in, you know they look small but they’re actually quite tough as you saw today,” Apps added.
The Dragons had to navigate several head injury assessments and a wrist injury to back-rower Talei Holmes.
