Broncos halfback Adam Reynolds says he can see a lot of similarities between his new coach Kevin Walters and Wayne Bennett.
A premiership winner with 231 NRL matches of experience, Reynolds knows just what he needs in a coach to be successful on the field.
The newly announced Broncos captain this season will be tasked with turning things at Red Hill, with the club coming into 2022 on the back of consecutive seasons without a finals appearance.

But having played under Bennett – a seven-time premiership-winning coach – for the past three seasons, Reynolds will be in a very different situation this year as he goes from last year’s grand finalists South Sydney to the Broncos, who are coming off a 14th-place finish.
And while it will just be Walters’ second season as a head coach in the NRL, Reynolds says the man in charge at Red Hill isn’t too different to Bennett.
“To be honest, they’re not too different,” he told Nine News Queensland.
“They both like to have a good time, good personalities and when it’s time for game time, they switch on and they’re passionate.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for Wayne and what he’s done – I loved the last couple of years [in South Sydney], but Kevvie has been fantastic since I’ve come here.
“He’s done a tremendous job with the playing group and the boys have a lot of respect for him.”
Reynolds says he’s excited about the young talent coming through at the club.
“There’s a lot of exciting young players here and there’s a lot of talent,” he added.
“It’s just about us doing the hard work now and making sure we gel as a team.”
