Winger Jaime Chapman was at her absolute best as the Indigenous All Stars avenged last year’s humiliating loss to the Maori All Stars with a dominant 18-8 win at CommBank Stadium.
Chapman didn’t let last year’s 24-point thrashing affect her by crossing for two tries and notching 150 run-metres in a Player of the Match performance.
But it was the opening try of the match that showcased just how bright a future the 19-year-old has ahead of her.

During the second quarter, the Maori All Stars looked destined to score following several repeated attacking sets, before the winger from St George Illawarra came up with a crucial intercept to go the length of the field for the opener.
It took Chapman just a handful of strides before her speed proved too much for the Maori All Stars to keep up with.
“Is there anything better than seeing a length of the field try from your winger?” said Allana Ferguson in commentary for Nine.
“The crowd stood up. The atmosphere is electric.
“Jaime Chapman reading that play perfectly, in the right place at the right team.
“She’s got plenty of pace, how good was that to see.”
While she benefited from a giant overlap for her second try not long after, it was Chapman’s opening score that set the match up for the Indigenous All Stars.
The Indigenous All Stars led at every moment in the game despite several fightbacks from the Maori side.
Chapman’s best on ground performance handed her the Trish Hina medal.
Meanwhile, Chapman wasn’t the only Indigenous All Star to show chase her individual brilliance.
An incredible show of strength from prop Tommaya Kelly-Sines proved the dagger with her side taking a 10-point lead in the final term.
Four Maori defenders weren’t enough to stop the prop from muscling her way over.
“She drove and wouldn’t be denied!” Ruan Sims said in commentary.
