Champion jockey Damien Oliver was taken to hospital to have scans on his neck after a barrier accident at Warrnambool.
The veteran hoop – who has won the Melbourne Cup three times – was aboard Ethekwini when the horse began to play up while in the barriers preparing for the last race of the day at the Victoria track.
The horse was scratched from the race and Oliver was attended to by paramedics, who put him into an ambulance and took him to hospital.

He is reportedly having scans on his neck.
Oliver, 49, is one of Australia’s best known and most loved jockeys.
He first won the Melbourne Cup – Australia’s most prestigious horse race – in 1995, and did it again in 2002 and 2013.
His 2002 victory aboard Media Puzzle is one of the most memorable Cups in history, for the fact Oliver’s brother Jason had died a week earlier in a racing accident.
Oliver battled through the grief to ride in the Cup and won, saying afterwards he would give the trophy back to see his brother again.
