This Big Bash League season has been highlighted by some astounding catches, and Daniel Sams produced one of the very best at the pointy end of the tournament.
It came during his Sydney Thunder’s clash with Adelaide Strikers at the MCG on Sunday night.
Sams had grassed an earlier catch, which would have dismissed Strikers batter Matt Short cheaply.

But he quickly made amends when Alex Carey belted a shot to his on-side, only for Sams to take a spectacular catch over his shoulder while running backwards.
“What a comeback that is,” Michael Vaughan said in Fox Cricket commentary.
Cricket legend Adam Gilchrist could hardly believe his eyes.
“Look at that… completely airborne,” Gilchrist said.
“Superman. And they needed that too.”
The Strikers would go on to post 6-184 in their final.
