Australian Rugby League Commission chairman Peter V’landys has made his official pitch to US president Donald Trump, as he attempts to drum up interest in the Las Vegas spectacle set to kick off the NRL season.
Featuring on Fox in America, V’landys implored the president to attend the matches in Las Vegas which will include NRL, international and Super League fixtures on March 1 and 2 (AEDT).
“Mr President, we want to introduce you to the toughest game on earth, rugby league, in the world’s sport and entertainment capital, Las Vegas,” V’landys said.

“We know you love physical, tough contact sports, there’s no sport more brutal than rugby league.”
Allegiant Stadium will host a blockbuster four games on March 1, to continue on the momentum built from last year’s event.
The Raiders and Warriors will play one NRL match while the Penrith Panthers and Cronulla Sharks battle the other.
Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves play the Super League fixture and it’s the Australian Jillaroos against the England women for the international match.
Former Blues representative Aaron Woods has also featured on Fox while in December, NFL legend Rob Gronkowski featured in an ad promoting the sport.
