Australian surfer Jack Robinson has been injured while training at Teahupo’o just days out from the start of the surfing competitions at Paris 2024.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Robinson was thrown off his board by a wave during his second training session at Teahupo’o — a village on the coast of Tahiti in French Polynesia — on Thursday (AEST).
Footage obtained by Wide World of Sports shows him being carted away on a jet ski.

With some of the most powerful surf in the world at Teahupo’o, the 26-year-old cut his foot after colliding with the sharp reef.
Robinson was assisted out of the water via a jet ski before being assessed by medical staff at the Olympic venue.
He was then taken to a nearby medical facility for further treatment but the Australian team’s chief medical officer has since allayed fears that the world No.3 could miss the heats.
“Jack Robinson suffered a minor cut to his ankle during his second training session at Teahupo’o today,” a spokesperson for the Australian team told the Herald.
“He was taken to the medical centre on-site and treated by Surfing Australia’s chief medical officer Dr John Ward who said Robinson was still on track to compete.”
It is thought that the fierce conditions at Teahupo’o did not play a significant role in Robinson’s fall.
Earlier this month, former professional surfer Owen Wright told Wide World of Sports that Australia’s surfers would need to be cautious of the aggressive wave at the Olympic Games.
The Olympic surfing competition gets underway on Sunday (AEST).
