Former Brumbies head coach Dan McKellar looks set to lead the Waratahs in Super Rugby Pacific next year.
McKellar, who split with Leicester Tigers in England’s top Premiership Rugby competition last month, is reportedly set to sign a deal with NSW Rugby.
The former Wallabies assistant coach hasn’t put pen to paper yet, reports The Sydney Morning Herald, but is poised to take the job.

It comes just weeks after the sport’s governing body fired Darren Coleman.
The Waratahs were woeful this season, winning just two of their 14 matches to finish last on the ladder.
The Herald reports an announcement is expected to be made in a matter of days, confirming McKellar’s signing.
Before McKellar split with Leicester Tigers, another former Wallabies assistant coach, Scott Wisemantel, was the top pick.
McKellar’s signing would be significant for the Waratahs. He led the Brumbies from 2018 to 2022 and during that time made them the leading Australian team in Super Rugby.
The Brisbane-born coach was part of Dave Rennie’s set-up as an assistant coach but was not part of the Eddie Jones regime that bombed out of the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
