Damien Cook could be set for a surprise switch of clubs after reports the Dragons are interested in signing the representative hooker to a two-year deal.
The 32-year-old is contracted to South Sydney until the end of 2025, however the Rabbitohs could be prepared to let him go as Wayne Bennett prepares to return to the club.
The Sydney Morning Herald the Dragons are in discussions with Cook’s manager Mario Tartak after the Rabbitohs informed him they would not offer an extension beyond his current deal.

Cook reportedly also had interest from English Super League club Huddersfield.
The Dragons deal would require a contribution to Cook’s salary for 2025. His current contract is worth about $650,000 a season.
South Sydney recently extended the contract of young hooker Peter Mamouzelos until 2027.

Tom Eisenhuth, Raymond Faitala-Mariner, Kyle Flanagan, Luciano Leilua, Jesse Marschke and Christian Tuipulotu have all come in since he signed on as coach while star halfback Ben Hunt is likely to extend his current deal.
