Cameron Munster has been rated a “touch and go” chance to play in Melbourne‘s NRL season opener against the Panthers following an incident at home.
The 29-year-old had been dealing with a calf injury during pre-season and missed both of the Storm’s trial matches, but was expected to be fit to return for the first round.
However, the star five-eighth is now in serious doubt to face the reigning premiers according to his coach Craig Bellamy.

“Mun will be touch and go,” he told The Sydney Morning Herald.
“We thought he’d be back a couple of weeks ago, but he had a bit of a setback. It wasn’t at training actually, he had a little accident at home.
“I think there was something in the shower and he’s slipped. He didn’t re-injure it, but he’s stretched it again. We thought he may have played in that last trial, but he was a fair way away from returning after that incident at home.
“Fingers crossed he’ll be OK and he will get some training in next week.”
Munster’s potential absence could open the door for highly-touted young playmaker Jonah Pezet, who Bellamy confirmed would come into the Storm lineup.
The 21-year-old Gosford product has been waiting in the wings for the past couple of seasons, making just seven first grade appearances, but would face the biggest task of his young career against the Panthers.
