Fremantle forward Sam Switkowski has been sent directly to the tribunal for performing a ‘chicken wing’ tackle on Collingwood youngster Jack Ginnivan.
The incident occurred in the fourth quarter of Collingwood’s upset 36-point win over the Dockers in Perth, and came just minutes after Ginnivan taunted Fremantle before kicking a goal.
Ginnivan picked up a loose ball and attempted to evade Switkowski, who wrapped him up and tucked the Magpie’s left arm behind his back while pinning him into the turf.

“It’s a chicken wing. That’s a deadset free kick right there,” said Garry Lyon on Fox Footy’s coverage at the time of the incident.
Ginnivan did not appear to be in any sort of pain after the tackle and did not remonstrate with the Docker for his actions.
Switkowski was hit with a serious misconduct charge by the AFL’s match review officer, Michael Christian, with the Docker unable to accept an early plea.
The ‘chicken wing’ tackle is yet another firestorm Ginnivan has been involved in this season, with the 19-year-old fast becoming a cult hero among Collingwood fans.
Ginnivan has enjoyed a fantastic second season, kicking 19 goals in his eight games, and has kicked multiple goals in his last five appearances.
