Nine commentator Peter Psaltis called it “sickening” as Liddle left the field with blood streaming out his nose.
“That is a good lesson for all the mums and dads watching out there – make sure (your kids) wear a mouth guard,” Cameron Smith said.
Amazingly, Liddle returned and played through the broken nose.
“That was awful,” Andrew Johns said.
“Lucky he didn’t break his jaw.”
Johns also shared some sound advice for any youngsters watching on.
“Get your head down. Put your chin down, don’t lead with your head and wear a mouth guard.”
