All eyes on Friday night were on were on Mitchell and Manu after the brutal clash between the pair last year prematurely ended both of their seasons, with Manu left with a shattered cheek and eye socket while Mitchell was suspended.

Mitchell joined Nine’s Golden Point post-match after the match where he was asked about the match-up with Manu as well as the moment he embraced with his former Roosters teammate.

“I’m really proud of the boys, we stuck to our process and kept it really simple, to be honest.
“We came out firing and that’s the Rabbitoh mentality. I’m glad we delivered.”
The pair had previously played alongside each other with the Tricolours where they were part of back-to-back premierships in 2018 and 2019.
Mitchell was again asked about the moment he came up against Manu when approached by Immortal Andrew Johns in the sheds.
“That’s the rivalry, that’s why I love it, that’s why I love the game,” Mitchell said.
“He’s one of my best mates and I leave it on the field. I don’t keep it personal.”
