The Broncos have continued their dominance in the NRLW competition, smashing the Sydney Roosters in their season opener, 20-4.
Brisbane have won the competition in each of its first three years, while only losing one regular-season game in that time.
It was a first-half littered with big hits and tough defence. One nasty head clash left Taylor-Adeline Mapusua bloodied while Millie Boyle was taken from the field – while Millie Boyle left for a head injury assessment.

The gun forward passed the test – fresh with a new jersey and some bandaging on her chin – found herself in support after Tamika Upton danced through the defensive line to score Brisbane’s second try in as many minutes after the break.
“It’s alright, it wouldn’t be a game if there wasn’t a bit of blood,” Boyle said afterwards.
Mapusua wasn’t so lucky – coming away from the collision that she had a broken nose and a split eye.
It was yet another clinic from the defending champions, who took a 10-0 lead into halftime and quickly doubled it after the break – Emily Bass grabbing a try on either side of the interval and Roxette Murdoch getting the other.
The Roosters got on the scoresheet late through Olivia Kernick, but the result was never in question – and it seems like once again the narrative for the NRLW season will be everyone else chasing the Broncos.
