Gold Coast Suns star Ben King has admitted he was left emotional after suffering a knee injury during a pre-season training session, as he and the club sweat on scans.
The 21-year-old underwent scans this afternoon on his right knee after crumpling to the ground as he attempted to compete in a marking contest with last year’s No.5 pick, Mac Andrew.
King spoke to 9News immediately after having scans on his knee.

“We’ll just have to wait and see,” he said.
“A little bit (of emotion) but it’s settled now, that’s just footy, you get injured, so it’s all a part of it.”
The Suns star was quickly attended to by his teammates and coach Stuart Dew, as well as the team’s medical staff, before undertaking a number of exercises while grounded.

King led the Suns’ goalkicking last season with 47 majors and is out of contract at the end of the 2022 season.
A number of rival clubs are gearing up in an attempt to lure the Victorian rival out of the Gold Coast ahead of next season.
