Rugby league’s celebration of Australia Day has been marred by racist attacks on Bulldogs superstar Josh Addo-Carr on social media.
The Blues Origin winger today lodged a complaint with the Bulldogs, who have passed the matter through to the NRL for investigation.
“Josh Addo-Carr has been receiving racial comments on his media platforms,” a Bulldogs source told Wide World of Sports.

“Josh has sent me the screen shots today of the comments.
“I have forwarded these messages onto David Lockley, the NRL senior intelligence officer.
“David investigated similar messages that (Bulldogs winger) Jayden Okunbor received previously.
“I have been in contact with Josh, and he is OK, but has requested the NRL step in as this person is relentless with messages.”
Addo-Carr has been outspoken about Aboriginal rights in recent years, refusing to sing the national anthem before big games and supporting the Indigenous cause at every opportunity.
