Afghanistan star Rashid Khan has had his milestone 300th T20 match cut short after he was bowled by fellow countryman Mujeeb Ur Rahman in unusual circumstances.
Appearing at the crease earlier in the Strikers’ innings than normal as a pinch-hitter, Khan slapped back-to-back sixes in the Power Surge in his final BBL match of the season before joining Afghanistan on international duty.
However, on Khan’s fourth delivery, he backed away from the stumps towards his leg side to give himself room to swing against the spin.

As Mujeeb followed through, the ball deflected off Khan’s leg and ricocheted back onto the stumps.
With the stumps positioned nearly a metre away from Khan’s body, commentators were astounded by the bizarre dismissal.
“Rashid Khan can’t believe it, Mujeeb wants to burst out laughing! They’ll talk about that one on the plane,” Fox Cricket commentator Brenton Speed said.
“I can’t believe it, it’s almost bounced square. Normally a deflection goes down the fence for four,” added Brett Lee.
The Adelaide Strikers’ finished with a score of 4-161 for the Brisbane Heat to chase.
However, Khan had the last laugh over Mujeeb and the Heat, taking two wickets as a part of a team hat-trick.
After Lachlan Pfeffer was run out, Khan dismissed Sam Heazlett and Jake Lehmann with the next two deliveries of the match before eventually finishing with figures of 6-17 off his four-over spell.
