Frenchman Ugo Humbert has stunned Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in a three-set thriller at the ATP Cup.
After trailing 0-3 in the second set, Humbert pulled off the biggest win of his career, upsetting world No.2 Medvedev 6-7(5) 7-5 7-6(2) at Ken Rosewall Arena on Sunday.
With the game concluding in an epic final set tiebreak, the feat tied the Russia-France group match-up 1-1.

Russia, last year’s champions, then won a doubles decider, to split the countries.
The win was world No. 35 Humbert’s first over a top three player. Incredibly, he has now won six of his last eight matches against top 10 players.
The loss puts a dampener on Medvedev’s Australian Open preparation as he strives for consecutive grand slam titles, following his win at the US Open in 2021.
In other ATP Cup news, Aussie James Duckworth has also been ruled out of his clash with Jannik Sinner. He has been replaced by Max Purcell in a big blow for Team Australia as they face Team Italy this evening.
