The entire Gold Coast Suns AFLW squad is in isolation after a player tested positive to COVID-19, but the club says the case poses no threat to the beginning of the season.
Wide World of Sports confirmed with a club source that the whole squad went into isolation after a positive PCR test was returned after training on Monday.
That came after every player in the squad returned a negative rapid antigen test ahead of training.

The 2022 AFLW season will get underway in a clash between St Kilda and Richmond at Melbourne’s Frankston Park on Friday, January 7.
The Suns will begin their campaign against the Giants at Great Barrier Reef Arena on Sunday, January 9.

It was the Suns’ decision to put the entire squad into isolation on the back of the positive test.

Another round of PCR tests is being carried out on Wednesday and the club is awaiting advice from Queensland health authorities.
