The Sydney Swans have been hit with a massive outbreak of COVID-19 just days out from Christmas.
At least nine Swans are believed to have tested positive to the virus, the transmission of which is said to have occurred during a boat party on Sydney Harbour.
The Swans confirmed that ‘some’ members of the squad, including players, had tested positive.
“All affected players and staff are double vaccinated and all report to be in good health,” a club statement read.

“The club’s primary concern is for the health and safety of all players, staff and their families.”
The club also confirmed that all players had returned negative tests before their final training session of the year, which took place last Wednesday.
The squad is due to resume pre-season training on January 6.
