The NRL will not consider registering a contract for Anthony Milford until criminal proceedings over assault charges have been completed.
The playmaker was earning $1 million for the Broncos this year despite struggling to even get picked in the first grade team, so poor was his on-field form.
In September he was arrested and charged with three counts of assault, and the matter is yet to conclude.

It came after he had signed a deal to play for the Rabbitohs in 2022, but the contract had not yet been registered by the NRL.
“Given the severity of the allegations, particularly that two charges allege violence against women, the NRL will not consider an application for registration until the court process is complete,” a statement said.
The Rabbitohs said they support the NRL’s position.
