Richmond’s pre-season preparations have been boosted by the return of Dustin Martin, who hit the track with some of his veteran teammates today.
Martin looked noticeably slimmed down on his return, having lost 10kg when he was forced onto a fruit-only diet while hospitalised due to a serious kidney injury.
The Tigers’ premiership hopes were dashed after the Brownlow Medallist’s injury against Brisbane in Round 18, with the then-reigning premiers eventually missing the finals.

Martin’s return to the training track comes after reports emerged regarding his off-season training camp with former NRL and All Blacks star Sonny Bill Williams.
According to News Corp, Martin joined Williams in the boxing ring, and left onlookers impressed.
“You’ve got no idea how hard he hits the bags,” Williams’ manager Khoder Nasser said.
“Seriously, he can really throw ’em.”
