Teofimo Lopez‘s father has been blasted for his actions during his son’s shock loss to Australia’s George Kambosos Jr in New York.
Lopez Sr was central to the tensions between the two camps in the lead-up to the Madison Square Garden fight, almost coming to blows with the Aussie and his father at a media workout.
The American was ejected from the Church Street gym as a result of his actions, but that did not temper his behaviour during the fight itself.

There were fireworks in the ring right from the outset as Kambosos knocked Lopez to the ground in the opening round before the American hit back.
However, as the fight wore on fans noticed that Lopez wasn’t giving his son the best advice in between rounds.
Former world champion Ishe Smith was one to notice, saying that Lopez needed a “teacher” in his corner instead.

Seven-time British and European champion Tony Jeffries also chimed in, calling Lopez’s father the worst corner man he’d seen.

The experts weren’t the only ones to notice either, with AFL star Scott Pendlebury among the fans who were caught offside by Lopez Sr’s actions.
