Parramatta have ended the contract speculation around captain Clint Gutherson, inking the fullback to a new deal until the end of the 2025 season.
Gutherson was one of several key Eels whose contracts were due to expire in the 2022-23 off-season.
“We are delighted for Clint and his partner Jesse to remain part of the Eels,” the club’s football manager Mark O’Neill said.

“Clint is a key leader of the club and the energy and commitment he brings to work every day is unparalleled. Additionally, his on-field performances week in and week out are always at a consistently high level.”
The Eels are at a crossroads in terms of the club’s future, with fans hopeful that Gutherson, along with both prop Junior Paulo and hooker Reed Mahoney, would all be along for the ride.

Over the past two weeks the Eels lost both Marata Niukore to the Warriors, and Isaiah Papali’i to the Wests Tigers, while also signing Reagan Campbell-Gillard to an extension.
Gutherson joined the Eels from Manly in 2016, after rising through the junior ranks at the Sea Eagles.
He quickly became a fan favourite at Parramatta and was made made a co-captain of the club in 2018, and making his State of Origin debut in 2020.
