Australian basketball star Dante Exum has been waived by the Houston Rockets after the club finalised its 15-man roster.
Exum, 26, looked to be handed an NBA lifeline when the former No.5 draft pick was signed to a non-guaranteed contract back in September.

The former Cavalier and Jazz point guard had earned the brief contract following a stellar outing during the Olympics.
Exum has been plagued by injuries for much of his career having only played six games due to injury last season.
He was fit in time for the Tokyo Games where he played a key role for the Boomers in their historic bronze medal run, averaging 9 points and 2.8 assists a game.

The Australian’s form after the Olympics led to many former stars, including Andrew Bogut, calling for the point guard to be picked up by an NBA team.
