Brett and Josh Morris were asked to sum each other’s careers at the Roosters end-of-season awards night as the club paid tribute to a host of departing legends.
“Ultimate competitor, I think that’s the best way to label him,” Brett said on Zoom after being injured earlier in the season and away from the squad.
“Week in, week out, you knew exactly what you were going to get from J-Moz. He’s a brick wall in defence, he’s a threat every time he touches the ball.”
“He’s a guy you just love playing with.

“As a mate, as a brother, I’m super proud of everything that you’ve achieved mate, love ya,” he concluded.
Josh then held back tears as he was handed the microphone.
“How do you sum up the best winger in the game, ever?” he said.
“If I had to bet my life on someone to score a try from 10 metres out with three people to beat, I’d bet B-Moz every day over anyone.
“What he was able to do over the last 15 years, the way he evolved – I have no doubt in my mind without B-Moz in the side in 2019, they don’t win the grand final.
“It’s been an absolute honour and a privilege to watch you go about your work bro.”
The Morris brothers are among several high-profile Roosters leaving the club for either a new team or retirement, including Boyd Cordner, Jake Friend, and Isaac Liu.
“The thing you remember is how much they left in this place, forever,” Robinson said of his departing players.

Brett joined the Roosters in 2019 and won a premiership, with Josh moving over from the Sharks the following season.
“I should by rights seperate B and J, but they came out together and they’ll leave together, and that’s been their whole career,” Robinson said.
“There was a piece of the puzzle there both at centre and wing over the last couple of years that we needed to fill, and we got two international wingers and centres to come to the club at the end of their careers and finish in the jersey.”
Brett debuted in 2006 at the Dragons, with Josh’s first NRL game coming the following season.
“To watch them play the game, to span the eras of 2006/07 to 2021, most players don’t last,” Robinson said.
“The world of centres and wingers changed a lot in that period of time, and they re-defined it again and again.
“B, we didn’t get to get the send-off that we wanted, but who cares? That career was legendary.”
Fullback James Tedesco was awarded the Jack Gibson Medal as the team’s best player for the fourth-consecutive season.
